Hot Aisle Containment
Improve Airflow Management in Data Centres with a HAC System
The Design, Manufacture, & Installation of Bespoke Hot Aisle Containment Systems
Hot Aisle Containment (HAC) is another form of aisle containment used to improve airflow management in Data Centres and Enterprise IT environments.
Instead of enclosing the cold aisle as in Cold Aisle Containment, doors are fitted to both ends of the hot aisle. The installation of a ‘chimney’ is then added to the racks that directs the hot exhaust air into the ceiling plenum where the hot air is returned to the CRAC units to be re-cooled.
Like cold aisle containment it prevents the mixing of hot and cold air streams which is the primary requirement of effective airflow management which enables the optimisation of cooling systems.
EDP Data Centre Solutions designs, manufactures, and installs bespoke HAC systems, specifically designed to tackle the requirements of each individual project. The use of infill panels enables obstacles such as differing height racks, building columns to be accommodated.
All EDP DCS aisle containment systems utilise our advanced aisle containment doors which provide greater stability, a synchronised sliding action and full 1200mm to 1800mm aisle opening.
HAC can be used in new build or retrofit scenarios, within enterprise, co-location or hyperscale environments.
As with all our aisle containment systems they are modular and scalable enabling your containment to meet the demands of day one needs and grow with demand.
